It is impossible to know the kind of thoughts social media influencers have in regards to their everyday beauty routine, but generally, it involves the use of many products. Well, I personally, have no idea how to find time to use 12 different products every morning and evening. It is true that, in a moment of weakness, I have given in and bought a bunch of eye serums or patches for T-zone cleansing, but, it has always ended in the same way – those miracle-promising beauty products have turned into abandoned, dust collecting items after just a few uses.
So, over time, I stopped wasting money on things I just wouldn’t use. Today, for my beauty routine, I follow the “Less is more” philosophy. For a long time, the main daily tools I “made friends with” were only micellar water and two different creams (lighter for the day, more serious for the night). Of course, when you follow the principle of “not quantity, but quality”, the most important thing is that the latter is really high, and facial care products are appropriate for your skin type. In my case, the attempts to choose cosmetics with a very natural composition – which became very fashionable a few years ago – did not work very well and, in many cases, I had to use products which contained other ingredients as well. All the products I liked balanced somewhere in the middle: their creators wisely combined the gifts of nature with the latest scientific achievements. Therefore, after reading about the philosophy of the MATH brand, which is fully in line with such a principle, I was excited. And yet, being a skeptic, I looked at the MATH products with some reservations.
Still, as soon as I unpacked the cleanser and two different serums from the boxes, I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the products I apply on my face is important, as is the packaging. After all, it’s a lot more fun when cosmetic bottles look stylish, rather than wanting to hide them as far away from your eyes as possible. The design of MATH products is luxurious and minimalist and the bottles can be safely placed in the most honorable place in the bathroom. By the way, out of the four women who have visited my bathroom since purchasing these products, three asked what this beautiful brand was. Another big plus related to the packaging of this product is the sealing of the bottles. Since I like to escape from the city on weekends, and the most loyal facial care products travel with me, it is important to me that the transported liquid cosmetic product does not spill.
And now for the most important part: do these cosmetics work? Before I begin, I will briefly introduce you to my complexion: I don’t have particularly serious skin problems, such as severe acne, so I don’t need any serious “medications.” Still, my combination skin is not perfect – it often lacks deeper hydration and the surface starts to shine during the day. It also tends to be red. When I fall asleep with makeup, or, when I consume unhealthy food, it sometimes happens for some kind of pimple to pop out. In addition, my skin does not make friends with all facial care products – a lot of purchased face creams and cleansers are out of date and have gone to the trash, because it would cause my skin to become too dry or irritated.
The first use of detergent and serums was good. In the evening, after cleaning the makeup with micellar water, I washed my face, not only with water as usual, but using the Deep Cleanser. I loved not only the pleasant, unobtrusive smell of caramel (which reminded me of my childhood as the famous square waffles of Palanga Basanavičiaus Street smelled similarly), but also the consistency – the product is liquid enough to easily spread on the skin, does not foam too much and it does not irritate the eyes. Another, very positive property of the cleanser is that it does not dry out the skin at all, something very common with cleansing cleansers, and rinsing it does not leave the skin feeling tight. After the cleanser, I used the moisturizing serum called Water Element. This product smells the same as a cleanser, but the aroma is very delicate, barely noticeable. The serum has a slightly unexpected, gel-like texture, but spreads perfectly on the skin, gets absorbed extremely quickly and does not leave a feeling of oiliness. This product seems to barely rise, gives tone to the skin, but does not feel that the face is “glued” or stretched. Although the usual evening beauty routine for many includes a face cream applied after the serum, I decided to constrain myself for the time being, especially since there is no shortage of moisture, and the skin is very soft to the touch – as if after a good scrub.
The next morning I washed my skin again with a cleanser, only this time I used another serum – Skin Balance, which regulates the release of fat . This remedy is virtually odorless, like the previously tested Water Element, perfectly spreads on the skin and absorbs well. Although the serum regulates sebum secretion and mattifies, there is no feeling of dryness. Since I used this serum in the morning, it also acts as a make-up base and does the job very well. On the skin moisturized with the serum, the make-up is applied and remains until late at night.
After using the products for more than a month, I discovered a new facial care routine – although in the evenings I often enjoy using the cleanser and limit myself to micellar water the Water Element moisturizing serum. I now start the morning by washing my face with Deep Cleanser and if the day is long, busy, and my face has to look fresh as if I had applied a product ten minutes ago, I choose Skin Balance. When I feel my skin needs an extra level of hydration, I use Water Element. Even though I have not had any major problems with facial skin before, I have noticed that after a few weeks, the condition of my skin has noticeably improved – better moisture balance – and irritation and acne has been reduced to a minimum. I think there was a click between my skin and MATH, which I am very happy about.
